Tired of Bad Dates? Take a look at this Date From Hell Story!
MY JEKYLL AND HYDE DATE
I had dabbled a bit in the online scene for quite a while. The whole experience left me pretty demoralized overall and I've since deleted every account I had. All but one of my "dates" were total photo fibbers through and through, to the point where I couldn't believe the girl I was meeting was the same one I had been talking to online.
When "Allison" wrote me, I thought my dreams had come true! She was a beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed knockout of a girl and I was excited! I met her at the mall downtown and to my pleasant surprise, she was who she claimed to be too! We really hit it off that first date, and went on several more afterwards. It escalated into being several days a week and I had honestly thought I had found a great prospect for the long term.
Once we decided to become "official" the proverbial feces hit the fan. She immediately became a completely different person. She was instantly clingy, she started accusing me of cheating and spent many a night literally screaming at me for no reason. She then came out and admitted she had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (think bipolar disorder on steroids). One particular night, she threatened to kill herself if I didn't promise to stay with her forever (we had only known each other for maybe a month) I actually had to physically restrain her so that she wouldn't run into traffic... Yikes.
Eventually I did the duck and run routine, I ignored every attempt she made to text and email (which was astronomical in amount) she even followed me home from work at one point, knowing where I worked but not where I lived at the time (thank god I didn't let her get that close)
Luckily after a few days, she gave up and moved on to another poor bastard like me. That sounds a lot better than the prospect of her plotting her vengeance against me!

Dr. Gooddate's response:
Yikes is right Tony! And funny enough, we've heard it before. I think all daters put their best foot forward early on, and it isn't until the relationship settles in that the true colors begin to surface. The insecurities of "Allison" came into full bloom once she felt comfortable which is often a characteristic of someone who simply cannot accept happiness. There are so many similar instances we've heard about and this is nothing unique. You have a girl who probably wants nothing more than a loving, satisfying relationship. And when she finally gets it, she immediately sabatoges a good thing with accusations, insecurities and insinuations. Personality Disorder is probably right, but then again, in the world of online dating it seems that everyone has a personality disorder or two up their sleeves! like I always say - better to see this now then after you say "I do".
The constant texts and emails certainly make "Allison" and endless emailer, and as many of you know, my remedy for this type of person is to run...and run fast!
